February hasn’t been an easy month for the People around the Nixyaawii Community School and the greater Pendleton area. Devastating floods destroyed homes, caused families to be rescued by helicopters and boats and took away what residents had worked for over decades.

But regardless of the immense losses and hardship, the families and friends of the Nixyyawii Golden Eagles packed up and followed their teams to Quinn Court in Enterprise. The gym was packed!!!
The ladies’ varsity game ended in a win for the Joseph Eagles with outstanding sportsmanship on both teams. The varsity boys game was four quarters of high speed and a fight for the win that only ended with the last buzzer.
After everything was said and done the Joseph Eagles Ladies ended with the regular season with OSSA ranking #5, Nixyaawii # 26. The Joseph Eagles Eagles boys came in with an OSAA ranking #9 while Nixyaawii Golden Eagles boys rank as #6.
Final Results are as follows:
- Joseph Eagles Ladies vs. Nixyaawii Golden Eagles W 54-40
- Joseph Eagles Boys vs. Nixyaawii Golden Eagles L 61-67
