JOSEPH, Ore – The Enterprise girls’ track team took first at the Jo-Hi Invitational Saturday, April 29 while the Enterprise boys were just three points behind the Elgin Huskies, placing second.
In the 100-meter race, Enterprise Senior Brandon Frolander took first in 12.15 seconds and freshman Foster Hobbs took third in 12.58. For the girls, Hero Peters of Enterprise was the top Wallowa County finisher in the 100-meter, tying for second place with Weston-McEwen’s Keree Graves.
Hobbs returned to win the 200-meter race in 25.40 seconds, edging out Joseph senior Aaron Borgerding who finished in 25.87. Reagan Bedard was second in the girls’ 200 finishing in 29.67.
Joseph senior Cayden DeLury handily won the boys’ 400-meter race in 54.01; Guylen Snyder, his freshman teammate, took third in a time of 1:01.
Enterprise sophomore Karli Bedard took first in the girls’ 400 meters finishing in 1:04:13 while Enterprise Senior Irina Baldessari placed third in 1:07.41.
Jacob Strampe, Enterprise senior, dominated the 800-meter race in 2:11:65, beating second place Micah Flippo of Elgin by almost 12 seconds.
In the girls’ 800-race freshman Deedee Duncan won in 2:34:02 edging out junior teammate Eliza Irish by a fraction of a second.
Joseph freshman Justice McQuown took second in the 1,500 meters behind Geoy Greenlee, an Elgin freshman. For the girls, Joseph senior Isabelle Tingelstad handily won in 5:04:33, a personal record. Duncan edged out Irish for second place, again by a fraction of a second.
Stacy Douglass, Enterprise senior, won the 100-meter hurdles, followed by her teammates freshmen Ashlyn Gray in second and Carsyn Miller in third.
Enterprise Sophomore Karli Bedard won the 300-meter high hurdle competition beating out teammates Baldessari who took second place and Douglass, third.
Cayden DeLury won the 300-meter hurdles in 43:44.
In the 4×100 relay, Enterprise girls beat Joseph and the Joseph boys edged out Elgin by less than a second.
The Joseph boys’ team repeated their relay success by winning the 4×400 while the Enterprise girls’ team took first in their relay.
Top Wallowa County finishers in boys field events were Enterprise Junior Blaze Lepper who took first in the shot put with a throw of 42’5.7”; Joseph Senior Ben Lopez took second place in discus with a throw of 107’05”; Enterprise Junior Ethan Burns won the javelin competition with a throw of 156’04”; Enterprise sophomore Joe Robb and senior Kobe Ketscher tied for first in high jump with a height of 5’8”; Robb was second in the long jump with a distance of 17’1.75” and second in the triple jump with 36’1.25”.
In girls’ field events, Enterprise freshman Tishrei Movich-Fields was second with a throw of 22’01”; Natalie Gorham, Joseph sophomore, was second in the discus with 78’03”; Ally Cooney won the javelin competition with a throw of 107’04”; Karli Bedard won the high jump with 5’02”, Maddie Bailey was second in pole vault with a 7’ finish; Riley Gray, Enterprise junior was second in the long jump with 14’10.25” and Cooney won the triple jump with 31’05”.
