The 7th Annual Chief Joseph Days Ranch Rodeo, a fundraiser for the CJD Scholarship Fund, kicks off Friday, June 26. The Ranch Rodeo that is leading up to the 70th Annual Chief Joseph Days Rodeo has been a successful scholarship fundraiser for the last seven years.

In addition to the college scholarships awarded to Chief Joseph Days Royalty Court Members, three $1,000 scholarships are awarded to Wallowa County High school students; Wallowa, Enterprise and Joseph one each respectively.

The activities start with another exciting trail ride Friday, June 26, at 2:00 p.m., from the Harley Tucker Memorial Grounds to the moraines at Wallowa Lake and then back through Joseph.

The big Roast Beef Dinner begins with “Happy Hour” at 6 p.m and dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 each. Children five to ten years of age, $7.00, four and younger are free. Tickets are available at the Joseph Chamber and the Sports Corral in Joseph. Tickets will also be available at the door, but people are encouraged to purchase dinner tickets in advance.

Following the dinner will be silent and live auctions, a Calcutta to auction off the ranch rodeo teams.  The Caluctta is a fundraiser – 25 percent of the proceeds goes to a scholarship fund and 75 percent goes to the “owner” of the winning team. Raffle tickets for two nights at Southpoint Resort in Las Vegas and two tickets for two performances at the National Finals Rodeo will be sold for $10 and $7 apiece.
